Why this guide exists
Korean gim varies by raw material, harvest, origin, roasting, oil, salt and package format. Front-label claims rarely explain the whole experience, so we compare products in the same order and write down the differences.
The goal is not to declare one universal winner. It is to help readers find a texture, aroma and seasoning style that fits how they eat.
How we review
Only products opened and tasted by the site owner receive a SeaweedGuide score. We first smell the opened package, taste one sheet plain, and then pair it with white rice.
Taste, crispness, aroma, value and willingness to buy again are recorded on a ten-point scale. The overall score also considers balance and intended use.
Editorial independence
We do not publish outside user reviews or manufacturer-written copy as editorial reviews. Product information and buyer-feedback summaries are clearly separated from the owner's tasting record.
If a product is provided, that fact is disclosed. Ingredients, nutrition, origin and storage should always be confirmed on the current package before purchase.
